May 2, 200521 yr Thank you. What website will you post the updates on? I wonder if this is possible, but how about the night cloud textures automatically adjusting for whatever moon phase is current? So many choices for everything I'm not sure what to pick!
May 3, 200521 yr Commercial Member Well I stand corrected and may have to look at getting this if it really fixes the problem... hmmm. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com
May 3, 200521 yr >So how're the squares now?>I'm still thinking about FE.Jacek,They practically do not exist. Notice the word 'practically'. Because if you set up special low-sun condition, look at it at the right angle and look close enough you may seem some faint squares (but I noticed they do not tend to dwell long - within seconds they are getting 'filled' and disappear). But it is a --huge-- improvement over the default water. FE's water is really the best there is. And I am not sure what the fuss is all about those 'horrible' water textures in the distance. I don't see any even though I stared at this horizon for minutes.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg Michael J.
May 3, 200521 yr Yes, I wanted to do the moon phase thing but it was considered a little too complex; but who knows, maybe I'll take another look at that?As for updates they will be posted on the www.flight1.com on the FE section. Update 1, which is available in the main download now adds a more clouds and water options. Update 2 will be out soon and will add even more cloud and water options. All updates will be free to FE users. Currently with update 2 we take the cumulus01.bmp total clouds to 13,794, which fortunately are assembled locally on your machine via the installer which saves you disk space and download bandwidth. The orginal release only had 1,920, which was still a lot. Update 1 took that to about 3,000 or so from memory? As you can see the updates and expansion of the product is very pro active as you will soon have 13,794 cumulus01 cloud sets to chouse from. And that number will contiune to grow over the coming months.Peter
May 3, 200521 yr Commercial Member Are these cloudsets installed/displayed dynamically on the fly in a random fashion? The idea of sorting through 13,000+ sets trying to find one to use sounds pretty daunting! I'll probably get this tonight - classes just ended, time to fly hehe! No, it doesn't work like this. Once the textures are loaded you are stuck with them until you change the textures. There is a tool called randomizer, you run it and it picks a certain set then (if you like it) you load it. After that you start FS9. Each time you changed the set you have to restart FS9 so you would see the change. Somehow I don't have the problem of sorting through 13000 sets - each one I select I like it. Who said you must review the whole set at one session (do you have to see all european countries when you go to Europe?), consider it exploration and try some new sets every day. Also sets are grouped in a few major classes - the differences between some of those subsets may be tiny.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/747400.jpg Michael J.
