November 30, 201411 yr Hello Everyone, When I attempt to uninstall the PMDG 777, I go into the installer, and click remove. It instantly shows as the program is uninstalled, but it really isnt. When I go back to re-install the 777, the same options are available. (Modify, Repair, Remove). I click remove again, and it does the same thing. I went to the uninstall a program feaure in my control panel and attempted to remove it there, but the same thing happened. I might have possibly deleted some files by accident. (Yes, I realise that the readme told me that I was not supposed to delete any of the files.) (I read the readme after I deleted the files)

If that doesn't work, try running the original install program (not a service pack update). Once it's restored, you should be able to do a full uninstall. Curious to know why you want to uninstall. The moderators of this forum want you to sign your full name. Mike
December 1, 201411 yr Author I tried that, still won't work. It is not fully uninstalling itself for some reason.
December 1, 201411 yr Author Is there a way I can delete every pmdg file manually, including the pmdg registry files?
December 1, 201411 yr Commercial Member I went to the uninstall a program feaure in my control panel and attempted to remove it there, but the same thing happened. Use the uninstall feature from the control panel. Then, delete all references to the PMDG 777 in the FSX > Sim Objects and FSX App Data > Sim Objects folders. When you're ready to re-install, make sure to run the installer as an admin. Kyle Rodgers

When you're ready to re-install, make sure to run the installer as an admin. Alright, I did that and it took about a second and a half. The PMDG 777-200LR/F Base Package FSX still showed up, so its still installed. I recently tried uninstalling then re-installing my 737 8900 NGX, and it worked perfectly fine.
December 1, 201411 yr Commercial Member The PMDG 777-200LR/F Base Package FSX still showed up, so its still installed. Things can still be in the Control Panel menu while still being uninstalled if there was some error in the uninstall process. As someone who uninstalled/reinstalled regularly (part of the beta process is killing any reference to the plane prior to installing the new version), the above process is what we used to remove all references. Next time, choose "repair" and see what that gets you (it should end up being just fine - if not, use my process above). Kyle Rodgers
December 1, 201411 yr Author Next time, choose "repair" and see what that gets you (it should end up being just fine - if not, use my process above). I chose the "repair" option, and it took about a second. It now says "Installshield Wizard Complete". I go into the game, and nothing is installed.

Might sound like a stupid question, but are you running the installer as an admin? All else fails: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/Default.aspx Kyle Rodgers
December 1, 201411 yr Author Might sound like a stupid question, but are you running the installer as an admin? All else fails: http://support.precisionmanuals.com/Main/Default.aspx Yes, I am running the installer as administrator. Also, by default it is set to run as admin. (At least on my computer)
December 1, 201411 yr The warning in the readme regarding deletion of files is pretty clear:"DO NOT MANUALLY DELETE FILES FROM YOUR MACHINE. (we warned you!)." They had a reason for doing this. You are now in neverland where registry errors will prevent you from normally removing and installing the program. The solution may depend on what you manually deleted. If you are not familiar with the inner workings of Windows, I suggest you contact PMDG directly as recommended by Kyle. Dan Downs KCRP
