Run out of fuel

Featured Replies

Hi

I am 737 NGX user for four weeks so i don't know everything about systems yet, but on two recent flights i had a problem with running out of fuel. First time it ended up with gliding to nearest airport, second time i made it to the runway with engines running. I'm sure that i have set the fuel properly and that i had the APU turned off before take off. Also, it happens somehow only when i'm using liveries  with europpean configuration (Kg not Lbs) . When i did flight with american airlines config (Lbs) , nothing like this happened. I'm really anooyed with this problem because i can't make longer flights in Europe.

Hm.... Get the figures right! If you calculate lbs, you load lbs... If you calculate Kgs, you load kgs...

Check out GIMLI GLIDER.....

Well, the APU should only be consuming around 150 lbs/hr if that. In any case, are you using the FMC to calculate and manage fuel load?

Sounds like you're not loading the fuel properly.

Remember that a lot of European airlines use KGs while US airlines use LBs. Logically, this would only really affect loading US aircraft with European fuel levels, but there has to be something lost in the translation there. I would check whatever fuel planner you're using against whatever is set in the aircraft.

I would highly recommend reading the entire introduction manual and then doing both tutorial one and tutorial two. Make sure you are loading fuel using the CDU and not through the FSX menus.
