February 3, 201511 yr Author Hey Bernd, Yeah that is what I was wondering about - Does Global and Vector make any -real- difference on Orbx regions? I have not used Global or Vector. Thanks for your 2 cents - I need all of the sense I can get- . Rob"Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it"
February 4, 201511 yr hey Rob, Global and Vector will not have any effect on the full ORBX regions, as these are already more detailed. So if you always stay in the full ORBX regions you will gain nothing by having Global and Vector installed. If on the other hand you fly outside of a region, then without Global and Vector you'll be back in the land of default scenery Regarding your query about PAKT and some of the other airports, the problem is not that Russ White no longer works for ORBX, but rather that there is a problem with P3D2 and elevations that needs to be solved by LM before these airports can be ported to P3D2. PAKT is of course special in that it has the sloped taxiways, and that apparently does not play well with P3D2 yet. Hopefully LM and ORBX will find a solution, since this problem also affects KJAC which is one of my favourites and I'd like to see it in P3D2. Cheers Jack Jack Johnston
February 4, 201511 yr Author Well Mr. Jack Johnston that is a really great and complete answer! Thanks for that! Side note: My airline (just me) has picked up a new hub in our Northern Pacific route. I bought FSDT Vancouver International last night. So now will be flying farther south. Great looking airport. I read a lot before buying. Installed it with all of the lowest texture options it gives to avoid the OOMs. Will be picking up Orbx PNW region next. Rob"Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it"
February 5, 201511 yr With the ORBX SAK, PNW, NRM, CRM and NCA (Northern California) regions installed, you get a huge area of the western US to fly over - can strongly recommend this. The only gap down the coast then is Tongass Fjords, and the good news is that the Tongass Fjords X scenery (made by Holger Sandmann but sold by FSAddon) also installs easily in to P3D2. So you can get great coverage all the way from Alaska down to Monterey. And with SCA (southern California) in development, then pretty soon almost the whole West Coast will be covered. Cheers Jack Jack Johnston
February 5, 201511 yr That was definitely on my buy list and got it a few days ago.Really happy with it. Like you I've purchased the fixer recently. Frankly speaking, I didn't notice any visual improvements. I wonder what particular things changed in DX10 so I could look at this more closely.
