January 8, 201511 yr Aircraft (NGX) during an otherwise normal and smooth approach SLAMS into the threshold just prior to touchdown. Tested approaches to rwys 25 and 29 and it does the same on both. If I bypass / overfly the thresholds, the aircraft will touchdown smoothly farther down the rwys. Anyone have an idea what is causing this ? It's the first time I've seen this issue. This issue happens so fast that I can't tell if the aircraft is slamming down into the rwy, or if the runway is slamming up into the aircraft. As indicated earlier, I've only experienced this at PADQ (Kodiak, AK) Ken Ken Boardman
January 8, 201511 yr There is only an ILS for runway 25. And it is a basic ILS, not certified for any CATIII landings. Once reaching decision height you should be controlling manually.

Ken If the landing was without using the autopilot, the only 2 things I could think of that could cause your aircraft to slam into the ground is either late flaring or flaring too early causing a stall. If you were flying with the autopilot, you should noticably hear and see the autopilot disconnect. (Atleast it does for the aircraft I use on non-CAT III airfields)
