FSX-MS Aircraft occasionally jumps around, randomly, while flying

Not sure where this has be covered. This occurs only in the air not on the runway.

It is like I hit an up or down draft but weather is off!

Only occasionally happens but happens regardless of aircraft (some more than others however).

Not a big issue but sometimes happens on approach!

 

My system is pretty powerful, with lots of ram, hybrid drive, plus plenty of disk space, plenty of frame rates, etc. So I am thinking this is a graphics (Nvidia) card setting issue or FSX config. tweaking issue?

Controller Spiking? Dirty Pots perhaps?

 

What are you using in the way of controllers?

Vary with aircraft but CH Yoke, sometimes add a CH Quadrant.

I would also check if Add Random Turbulence is enabled in the Winds tab of FSUIPC.

Do no use FSUIPC. Is there a similar command in FSX config?

FSX has discontinuities in it's weather coverage.. if you add third party weather, you get a smoother experience.

Your issue sounds awfully like the common issue of FSX's wind injection. Rather than gradually introduce, let's say a headwind of 20kts, FSX will immediately inject it causing your aircraft to have a wobbly and yourself a heart attack as you're sent careering into the ground!

 

As Bert mentioned above, it would be worth you investing in a weather program that features weather smoothing. REX, OPUS and ActiveSky all spring to mind; have a nose around the forums and see which one you might prefer; opinions vary.

Sounds like thermals to me.  Have you turned on/of in your simulator?
