Best scenery addon for fsx?

Featured Replies

Hi guys I just did a clean install of fsx with acceleration...

I wonder what's the best addon for scenery? And still keep my fps around 25-30 frames??

I'm thinking about Orbx ftx global...

Please help!!

Thanks!!

My system:

Intel core i5-3360M (at) 2.80Ghz, 16GB Ram, Amd Firepro M4000

Try the free Orbx PNW demo.. and fly out of Bowerman.

That should give you a good taste for what Orbx can do.

In my opinion, Orbx regions are your best bet, if you want the best in VFR scenery.

Northern California is their best IMHO, but PNW is great, as are the Alaska and Rocky Mountain sceneries.

Not sure what your system can handle though.... try it!

Thanks! I installed Orbx global, vector and openlc europe.

It looks very nice but I get weird white squares in the landscape.

I tried dx9 and dx10...

It looks like there are many bugs in the scenery?

Any suggestions what I can do?

Did you press "apply" in FTX Central?  I get weird textures when I forget to press "apply" in FTX Central.

Anybody have an idea what the problem is??

What are your computer specs and FSX settings?

The white squares might indicate that your computer is unable to load the textures fast enough.

Have you installed the latest motherboard and graphics card drivers?
