DX-10 Dummy

Featured Replies

I just got a new computer for FSX, I7 4790K, 8GB of Ram and NVIDIA 970 GPU.  If I plan on running FSX, should I get the DX-10 fix, is there any fall outs or cuase of more CTD while using this?

Sorry brand new to this topic, thanks!

Edit- I might go to P3D if that is a better option than sticking with FSX.

As long as you set up fsx's settings properly, you should have no problems.

FSX & P3D are 32bit. You can run into VAS limits with both sims.

FSX under DX10 Preview, fixed by Steve's Fixer program is, in my opinion, a far superior graphic output, than running under native DX9.  Other's might disagree, but for myself, I wouldn't run FSX.x under anything but DX10.

I agree with Sesquashtoo--It doesn't double my frame rates and make everything look photorealistic, but it does allow me to maintain smooth flying in areas and/or weather that puts a load on the hardware.

This more than anything helped me squeeze performance out of my low-end system and I wouldn't fly without it.

Being flying DX 10 for quiet a while wont do without it.
