Prepar3d gone wrong

Featured Replies

I just did a full re-install using the uninstaller and install all my ORBX product but they are not loading in the game. It like I am still using the default mesh and texture. The scenary.cfg is also fine. I am spitting hair here. I need some help. This is with ORBX Global + OpenLC Europe + Vector.  This terrible. It didn't look anything like that before. That's in summer daytime clear weather.

Did you bring up FTX Central and set it to Global before running P3D?

You may want to check that  you have the latest Orbx Libraries.

Cheers, Rob.

Odd, I'd check in with Orbx support and see if they have any suggestions.

Only other suggestion I have is to load P3D, bring up Scenery Library and make sure all the Orbx entries are there and checked, hit Ok when done will rebuild indexes.

Already done all of that. I already followed all their instruction on their forum. I posted on the support forum but I got no response in the past 24 hours. I am going crazy. Its like the base scenario are always going on top of the ORBX landclass even if the scenery library says otherwise. It's extremely annoying. btw, I got the same issue with FSX. I did a both clean re-install of both.

Odd, can't find your post in Orbx forum ... do you have a link to your post?

The only other time I've seen Orbx scenery not show up is from due to copy protection (aka pirated versions).

Claude,

I had a similar problem previously. I moved to P3D from FSX. I installed Orbx scenery, but it didn't appear. It showed up as valid in Orbx Central..but it wasn't there. It didn't make any sense to anyone. Why would it? As a final attempt, I reinstalled everything again, over top of what I had already installed. The scenery then showed up. I have no explanation, but you may wish to give it a go.

Cool! Any time. It's good to help, even if the advice is a result of my foibles as opposed to my talent. Perhaps my talent is remembering my foibles  :P

I think the title is perhaps a little misleading since it appears to be an Orbx issue ... glad you got it sorted.

Just curious, were you using the P3D V2 libraries and not the FSX ones or P3D V1?

Cheers, Rob.

I was using the correct libraries. Its a fresh windows 8.1 kinda week. Its one problem after another. Now I can go back to get multi-crew experience working. Since FSX crash 2 days ago, it refuses to load in both prepar3d and FSX. Its a nightmare to trouble.

Feel free to edit the title.

Perhaps it relates to 8.1 rather than either P3D or Orbx. 8.1 is known to do strange things with permissions.

IAC, glad you got it sorted.
