Well, bump it up again on the Orbx forum. They do sometimes miss questions and there's no point in moaning about it here!

 

Edit.....Actually, looking at your screenshots...I take it you did install the latest Orbx libraries last of all?

I missed the part where you were talking about multiple terrain elevations being visible. That would definitely cause a drop in FPS. I have not seen the screen shots you posted, but I had a similar issue where multiple runway elevations were appearing and causing a drop in FPS. Unfortunately the only way I was able to fix it was to re-install everything FSX and ORBX (regions, smaller airports, updates then latest libraries). And everything was back to normal. Good luck!

.. I have a link that I post here with some pix, but I have no idea how to do it, though I think that re-install FSX might solve the issue
