Prepar3D V 3.4 Released
Why would anyone download and install it.....when they don't know what they've downloaded and installed?

AeroFly FS 2, Lots of potential here
Well, I too have also requested a refund. Clearly there is potential here. But it is not until you don't have things you take for granted, basically all the signs that you are part of a wider living world, that you realise how much they are an essential ingredient. My P3D is working extremely well (touch wood) so with limited simming time available the fact is I won't be using this. And I've also realised just why I ditched photo scenery from my old FSX install. But I will continue to follow developments and may come back when it has more to offer.

AeroFly FS 2, Lots of potential here
Downloaded and installed it a couple of days back but due to other commitments had less than an hours use so far. But certainly looks promising from what I've seen..... What impressed me immediately was the ease with which you can actually get flying. Within less than two minutes of launching it was all set and ready to fly. I've used P3D for long enough but recently thought I'd give the X Plane demo a try.....seriously, I cannot think of a more user unfriendly set up procedure. Do they actually want newcomers into their sim or is it an attempt to put me off forever? But I'm not ready to ditch my P3D install just yet.....

How can anyone complain?

orbx england patch 1
I take it you've done the recent migration....did this throw up any errors or did everything migrate correctly?

CLOSED: Take our survey and have your say in shaping the future of flight simulation (plus there are prizes to be won!)
I think the reason for the "bug squashing" exercise is because they basically want to cease active support of FSX Steam. They don't see it as being much of an earner once the new sim comes out. Actually, JV's beta testing comment made me smile at the time I first read it. Having used Dovetail's Train Simulator for about three years it was news to me that they beta tested anything.

CLOSED: Take our survey and have your say in shaping the future of flight simulation (plus there are prizes to be won!)
JV said in the thread which was subsequently deleted that the sim was to go into initial beta within the next week (or words to that effect) so why they would even be asking these questions at this late stage is beyond me. And no, existing simmers aren't the target audience. It's the millions of Steam account holders who have no flight sims whatsoever in their library....and who would much prefer to purchase their add-ons as Steam DLC than support the third-party community.

I did find it a little amusing to see JV open a thread on the Orbx forum linking to the survey....only to delete the thread a couple of days later after some less than complimentary remarks. It was even more amusing to see someone then start a thread asking where the previous thread had gone....only to see that promptly disappear as well!

I'm a pariah now...
I read the "I'm Done" thread at the time. Whether it was intended or not (and I'm sure it was not) Orbx clearly took the view that it was a sideswipe at them particularly in view of the comments being made by other members as a result of the migration process. I'm not surprised in the slightest that they pulled the thread; left to its own devices it would have degenerated into muck slinging as these sorts of threads inevitably do. Is the ban harsh? Difficult to say. But it is essentially a private forum so you have to play by their rules whether you like it or not.

Probably because the punctuation is non-existent.

Crash after using simulation rate >8x
The only times I've been tempted to increase the sim rate was when using FSX with Air Hauler and I was running close to a deadline. I would invariably find that if I tried to go above x8 it would crash. Never tried it in P3D so also cannot answer the question. Would sooner save a flight and run it again later than just speed up the rate.

Pro ATC X update
.....and I've downloaded the demo to give it a try.

Pro ATC X update
Yes, I've looked at umpteen videos of it. Which is why I would be interested in buying it. But ATC is a bit like different types of scenery; you don't know whether you will actually like it until you sample it first hand on your own screen. I remember when I first thought about Orbx.....I wouldn't have used it at all were it for the fact that I could download and use a demo. They've had several hundred quids worth of my custom as a result. Can't imagine I'm alone in this and that the devs are missing out here.

Pro ATC X update
Disappointing that there's no trial or demo for this. I can't really risk £40 without knowing whether it's what I want or not.

Aerofly 2 really bad, refunded.
I would love to support a company doing something a little different, rather than piggy-backing on existing tech, but at that sort of price? Surely the whole idea is to get as many people interested in the sim as possible both from a feedback point of view and to get the cash in. But for that the price point needs to be right. At a tenner I'd do it but £29.99? No way.

Flight School Unlocked
It's all pretty much as I expected but I have to say I'm just a little bit underwhelmed by it all. I'm left with the feeling that this isn't so much an attempt at getting new people into flight simming but rather a way of extracting cash in the interim from those who are hoping that their new sim will indeed be "next generation" and would like a taster. A sort of stripped down early access, if you like. Really, it offers nothing which you would not expect to see in that full sim. Perhaps they intend to give Flight School buyers a discount. Then, perhaps not.....

Orbx not good enough: blurry texture
I can remember trying out Just Flight's VFR scenery on FSX some little while back and remember feeling dreadfully disappointed. The colours looked totally unrealistic, shadows clearly pointing in the wrong direction and airport buildings sticking out like skyscrapers on an otherwise totally flat landscape. I am sure more recent stuff from Horizon is better but it has sort of put me off totally. Using Orbx in P3Dv3 I am on the whole pretty satisfied. Where for me it falls down is that even in full fat regions it remains just a generic substitute; true, some sections are more true to life but the greater part still remains a mere representation. When I'm flying in Oz or the US West Coast it doesn't bother me; I've never been to either region so for me it seems real. But when I fly in England it is a big disappointment because I know it is not right. A big smoking chimney in the middle of Chelmsford.....for Heaven's sake! It's like with most things with this hobby.....a bit of a compromise.

If you think about buying an addon from the Steamtore....
But in this case it looks like the OP got his add-on (F-16) to work but then didn't like the liveries included and tried to get his money back. So I'd say "drama" sums it up perfectly.
