February 4, 201511 yr Hi. Apologies if this is in the wrong forum. Maybe ASN forum??? Just wondering what you guys do in regards to weather when using 777 time acceleration and ASN. I plan the flight using PFPX date and time in historic so I don't fly into the future when flying. Then setup ASN using historic time locked to sim time using the time used in PFPX. But when I fly and go into time acceleration (4X), I find that ASN cannot keep up with the sim so my weather/winds aloft are way out. Any advice much appreciated. Martin. Martin Stacey.

ASN doesn't know how long you're going to remain in accelerated time, so there will be some lag for when it pulls the next weather update, but it will eventually pull the weather update. It's one of those "have your cake and eat it too" moments. You can have weather keeping up with your flight, or you can have accelerated flight where the weather has to catch up. If you notice a problem that it isn't, see what they say over in their forum. Kyle Rodgers
February 4, 201511 yr Author Thanks' Kyle. I guess I'll just fly normally. Not using accelerated time. Will post on their forum, see what they say. Martin. Martin Stacey.
February 4, 201511 yr My goodness, just because Kyle doesn't like time compression... lol I use x4 with ASN locked to the flight simulator no problem. I guess there might be a lag getting updates (you can adjust how often ASN updates by the way in settings) but not that I would notice. PMDG does not recommend use above x8 where in reality most of us find x4 the practical limit due to the wait to load scenery effects at x8. Heavens, if the simulator can't keep up with x8, I don't expect ASN to do any better. Dan Downs KCRP
