FO sound/voice disappears

Featured Replies

Hi!

I have been getting a problem lately which I can't seem to fix. For some reason the voice of the FO, or the sound (whatever you find easy to understand) disappears in mid flight. Sometimes it disappears when I'm doing preflight flows. If I run the checklist command, for instance "before start checklist", I can still answer and it will move on to the engine start mode. Same if Im activating "before start procedure" I notice the movements and flows being done, but the sound is long gone. Even I press the Test Sound button on the FS2Crew panel I'm not hearing anything. I've tried pressing Q several times to check if its coming back but no luck. If it happens, I have to restart FSX because apparently I can't fix it in-game. Are there any causes of this, or should I try to reinstall it completely?

What's happening is your audio is disconnecting from your computer due to a hardware/driver issue.  The disconnect many only last for a micro second, but that's all it takes.

Solution:

Toggle the VOICE Button off and On on the FS2Crew Main Panel.

While the system is resetting, don't touch anything on your computer.

And I might suggest getting a USB headset... they seem less prone to disconnecting.

Ok thanks! Should I also try to update sound drivers etc, since it may be due to driver issues?
