June 1, 200521 yr Any views on what freeware or payware represents the best modern-day military fighter in FS2004? I'm thinking of aircraft from the past two decades. Thanks for your opinions! :)
June 1, 200521 yr Freeware...-Kirk Olsson F-16C & F-16D models each with varous loadouts.-FS_KBT F/A-18E/F/G agian with varous load-outs-FSD-International T-38 was built for FS2K2 but works well in FS9 -see payware list they have just released an upgraded version for FS9Payware...-aerofoundry F/A-18A/B/C/D http://www.aerialfoundry.ca/home.htm-alphasim F-4 many different varients http://www.alphasim.co.uk/-FSD-International T-38 and you get the C-17 tossed in as well. www.fsd-international.comThere are other's but these should get you started...:-outtahttp://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/i...s/sign_name.jpgThere is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness".- unknown"My daddy gives me up, to fight for you"- a US Military Members Child
June 1, 200521 yr The Lago F-16 was nice. It needed some updates but thats not going to happen. Too bad it was a great plane in FS2002. Andrew
June 1, 200521 yr F-16's are boring, its like the military version of the reliable old 737, id say the Eurofighter Typhoon is one of the best fighters out there; there are none on avsim but simviation has a load.
June 1, 200521 yr The Aerosoft A-10 is quite nice, not exactly a fighter but very detailed - can be a little rough on the system thoughwww.aerosoft-shop.com
June 1, 200521 yr Lago's Tornado is a pretty nice in FS9. Aerialfoundry's F/A-18's are fantastic. As mentioned the freeware F/A-18 Superhornets and F-16s that are here at Avsim are terrific. Its not a fighter but the P-3 Orion is pretty cool also.:DPlus there are plenty of models to add in your AI traffic at your local military installations.Kev
June 1, 200521 yr If you get an aircraft carrier, along with some F-14's (and AI too) that can be pretty sweet, but Id rather take a passenger plane up any day, simply because i prefer flying which is about precision, timetables and navigation :(. zooming around in F-14's make me think i should be in some gung ho top-gun style fighter game. Fighters do have their uses though, such as checking out scenery or practicing landings (if u can do it in a figher u can do it in a pas jet :))will :-wave
June 1, 200521 yr "F-16's are boring, its like the military version of the reliable old 737"Yeah ok :-roll Andrew
June 1, 200521 yr "the Dassault Mirage 2000N on avsim is very nice, almost payware quality for free."Thanks for the tip--I've been looking for different types of flying to do as of late--also seems some nice repaints are available too...-John
June 2, 200521 yr I would like to try the Dassault, but all the documentation is in French. Does anyone have an English translation?Tony
June 2, 200521 yr typhoon_11.zipYou may or may not be right relative to availability on avsim. I don't remember where I downloaded it. Look around.Happy flying:RTH
