Aircraft variations

Featured Replies

Hi Maarten

Is there any way to change an aircraft variation that is displayed when "show all variations" is unticked. I have been playing around with the filters but I am struggling. What I am trying to do is have say variation "A" displayed instead of variation "B". I have changed the order in the aircraft.cfg file, but that did not help.

Many thanks

John

Hi John,

I too struggled with this. The aircraft that gets shown is sorted on UI_VARIATION in the aircraft.cfg file. I just put a dash in front of the one I want listed first and it works like a charm.

Hi John,

SLX sorts the variations by ui_variation and will then show the first one. To display another variation, you need to change the ui_variation keys in the aircraft.cfg file and then rebuild the database (aircraft only).

thanks, Maarten

Thanks guys

As you can see, I put a dash in front of ui_variation=PH-FLF and that seemed to do the trick, I don"t know why.

Simple alphabetical sorting rule: dash comes before A!   :P

Hi Maarten,

just my thought:

You could set a new parameter like SLX_SORT in aircraft.cfg only for sorting purpose. It would be ignored by any other program.

Kind regards, Walter.

Hi Walter,

I'm sorry, but I don't want to modufy the aircraft.cfg files. The idea of prefixing the ui_variation key is a better option.

thanks, Maarten

@John: what you did is not the way to do it:

change -ui_variation=PH-FLF in ui_variation=-PH-FLF

The dash should go after the = sign.

thanks, Maarten
