February 24, 201511 yr I am at wits end. FSX will open to welcoming screen but when I go to fly it crashes to the task bar and freezes the system so I need to reboot. I am running Win 7 w/64 bit on a GeForce GTX 650 which I just updated the driver. After this started I updated the latest version of FSUIPC and still will not go past the opening screen. On the event viewer I am getting this information:Log Name: Application Source: Application Hang Date: 1/29/2015 3:17:09 PM Event ID: 1002 Task Category: (101) Level: Error Keywords: Classic User: N/A Computer: Richard-PC Description: The program rcv4.exe version 4.3.0.3845 stopped interacting with Windows and was closed. To see if more information about the problem is available, check the problem history in the Action Center control panel. February 24, 201511 yr According to the report, the AppHang was caused by Radar Contact. You might have to reinstall or make sure the fsuipc version is compatible with Radar Contact. February 25, 201511 yr Author Thanks Jim I did what you suggested but I still have the same issue. What i failed to mention when the program loads it generates the scenic files and builds the data base every time I run the program. It almost seems that the program is running like a double program. I am ready to do a complete uninstall but really don't want to do that again after doing about a month ago. Richard Spencer Churchill PVT SEL GYSGT USMC (ret)
February 25, 201511 yr Hi Richard, But it wasn't FSX that crashed. It was Radar Contact so there's something wrong with that installation. February 26, 201511 yr I'm actually having this same issue, and it only started after I updated FSUIPC last week. I'll try to gather info next time it happens.
February 26, 201511 yr Author Thanks for you help. I ended up doing a complete uninstall and reinstall. Richard Spencer Churchill PVT SEL GYSGT USMC (ret)
