Turkish Airlines Domestic Haul

THY1007(LTAR-LTBJ) rolls in front of wavering flags departing Sivas Airport on a 490NM run to Izmir and stormy skies ahead.  About 60 miles outside of Izmir the plane encountered severe turbulence, so I checked the OPUS weather popup and sure enough I had moderate wind shear, cumulonimbus clouds and lightning(the lightning was obvious without the popup B) ).  I really had to ride the speed brake hard pretty much all the way in.  The amazing thing was neither the passengers nor the FO complained once about it

Thanks fellas!  It's a roll of the dice on weather Steve-O and I've been having my share of "less than favorable conditions" more often than not lately.  The approach into Izmir was probably the bumpiest I've ever had.  I wonder how the big green machine would have handled that turbulence?
