AA AMD vs Nvidia

Featured Replies

I've read some threads stating the AA with the nvidia drivers isn't so great on p3d. Is there a noticeable difference for the AMD gpu users out there? Curious if r9 290x would be worth it over the Gtx 970

R9 290X roughly equals GTX 780ti.

Get MSI or Gigabyte for cool running. Its a hot card.

Typically you would be setting AA in game to 4x, disabling FXAA and setting AMD driver to supersample. Looks good on my system.

But you can achieve similar with nVidia I think...

Charles.

I have not tried an AMD card for a while but in the past they always had issues with clouds, which is why people always recommend nvidia for FSX. And with the ability to lock frames @ 30 (via 1/2 refresh) its a no brainer to go nvidia.

However if anyone is using AMD on P3D please chime in as they may work just fine today.
