June 19, 200520 yr Since the release of the Level D 767 I am now having a big problem with MSFS.That problem is to do with the Level D 767 but in the fact that this aircraft has ruined most of my old favourites in FS for me.The 767 is so silky smooth and yet so complex that my old favourites now seem so jerky and framerate unfriendly.I am using the 767 almost exclusively while aircraft I used to love and use like the aeroworx B200 no longer seem up to it.Is anyone else having simular difficulties?RealAir aircraft are also silky smooth and the example these new technology aircraft have given seems to have highlighted the bad frames in other aircraft. What old favourites need a makeover with smooth gauges etc and what other aircraft other than the ones mentioned give you silky smooth performance?Maybe a framerate marking system should be brought out so we know which are the good and bad ;-)The level D 767 deals so well with heavy weather and complex airports which brings my other aircraft down to a jerky crawl.Peter
June 19, 200520 yr I see your point Peter ;-) Even though i.e PMDG's NG boeing is still cool, I find it really heavy on fluidity after the 767. One plane I still find myself back at is the default Cessna, which has real nice and smooth gauges in the VC :-lolHowever, a framerate marking system would not make any sense because the frames depend so much on your system. To make things more complicated, system performance is not simply a sum of it's components, some claim they get worse frames on addons others claim are extremely good on frames.Realair's gauge programming is unique, and does not rely on PC performance. I don't think there are others yet using similar techniques.
June 19, 200520 yr Peter and Kyle,I do see your point and also have the Level D 767 -- and although I enjoy this aircraft tons, the other quality aircraft I have in my hanger, such as the DF 727 and others, still give me the satisfaction I desire from FS.I think it is all in the product and the quality of the reproduction and ANY quality aircraft for FS can do that. I know from the time I began beta testing the 727, to its release I almost exclusively flew the Boeing -- to make it a quality product and because I just love the aircraft.Like comparing a Porsche to a lesser car, quality can spoil you.Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. June 19, 200520 yr 'Like comparing a Porsche to a lesser car, quality can spoil you." HMMPPHH! Methinks Clay is casting disparaging remarks at my '62"Vette" Just because it rides like a buckboard, steers like a truck, and corners like a bulldozer in no way makes it a "lesser car":P Yeah! and the same goes for my "Almost Viper" (1997 Neon):-lol Just you wait till I join you in retirement in a few months and giveme enough time to freshen up the 'ol 327, rebuild my antique RochesterFuel injection, and I'll tool down to 'ol Miss and we'll see about thislesser car stuff:-8 . But only in a straight line mind you...oh and no sudden stops either...oh and only for a quarter of a mile cause the53 chevy front end under her gets kind of squirrely over 130 Mph:-lol But nice analogy though:-beerchug DennyHowdy from KC, Mo:-wave Denny Retired Professional Tourist
June 19, 200520 yr ClayFor some reason the 767 is butter smooth even in dense weather and scenery which is surprising because my other aircraft are not.Is there something unique to the 767 causing this or unique to my system which especially likes this aircraft. While before I lived with sluggish frames the bar has been raised making my other aircraft unsatisfactory.Peter
June 19, 200520 yr Denny,You put a great big grin on my face. I too had a FI Vette once and in truth, for its time it was fantastic!Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"
June 19, 200520 yr Peter,You know, I'm really not sure. I too have fallen for this aircraft, and althought every once in awhile, it does something totally crazy, I just flip off the AP and fly it by hand and even enjoy it more.It is very well balanced and a joy to fly. Think maybe we're getting old? LOL and just like the good stuff? Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"

Sometimes i flip the FlightDirector switches on at the gate and whoosh! a few minutes later she's off into the departure lounge for no reason at all.Great to fly though and framerates are very impressive, in any situationCheersDan
June 20, 200520 yr Silky smooth?? No way not on my AMD3700+ 6800GT system once the heavy weather kicks in, you must have some secret on how to get good perf out of this bird, what is it?Bruceb Bruce Bartlett Frodo: "I wish none of this had happened."
