error I can't seem to fix

Featured Replies

Hello EveryoneI am new on the forumns so I apologize if this has been brought up before, but I can't seem to fix it. When I start FS2004 I get this error message "the requested flight file is corrupted or can't be found. Flight Simulator will now try and load the default flight". I have tried to do many things to fix this. I have tried making a new "default startup flight", and keep getting this message. Can someone help me fix it so I don't have to press enter every time FS starts to get past the error screen? Thanks.Mike

The FS9.cfg file carries the information about the startup flight. If you rename FS9.cfg to say FS9.bak and start up FS9, it should create a new FS9.cfg file and your problem should be gone.

You could delete the FS9.EXE file all together. When you start FS again it'll create a new one. YOu'll just need to set all the parameters to your liking again. If that fixes it, post back so others can learn from this. :)-=MAB=-

Deleting the FS9.exe file is probably a bad idea :-) . But, you're right, deleting the FS9.cfg file will also work.DougPS: Welcome to the forum(s) Mike.

Hey thanks for all your help. I should have tried deleting the FS9.cfg file but never thought of it. That's why these forumns are great. thanks for the help and the great welcome! Mike
