The problem here is that the 787 models (WOAI) are shiny in the air but invisable on the ground

 Check your setup, the UTT B787's work fine both in the air and on the ground.

Are you running in DX 10 mode? If so, you may have an issue with 8 bit texture and an alpha issue. 

Shown here in P3d, but they look no different in FSX DX9 or DX10. On the ground as well.
