FSXteam Edition - Newbie Questions

Featured Replies

I have a couple of quick questions related to the Steam Edition version of FSX...

1. Is it possible to get rid of the on-screen messages - brakes, exits, zoom level etc (In FS9 there is an edited language.dll that kills these messages)

2. Is it possible to install AES in the Steam Edition? So far I've had no success

3. Where is the FSX.cfg file located?

Thanks

Ian

In the FSX.cfg add this to the [Main] section.

Hideinfotext=1

That will turn off all the brake, skew, overspeed, and parking break messages.

Cfg location in Win7 Users\Your Name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX

No idea on #2 since I use GSX for Ground services.

AES is not working with the Steam edition, at least not yet.

As for FSX.CFG and the messages: basically the same things apply for FSX:SE as for FSX:boxed when it comes to those (or anything else for that matter, both are nearly identical when it comes to the config). You will find all the messages in detail in the FSX.CFG and you can turn them on or off like cmpbellsjc said. (for example InfoParkingBrakesEnable=True)
