American Airlines grounded by iPad app error

Featured Replies

I started reading the comments section on msn news below this story, and had to stop before I threw my monitor.

People just have no freaking CLUE how modern aviation works.

People were complaining that American Airlines is "leaving the fate of hundreds of people in the hands of an electronic toy", aka the iPad.

I guess the pilots are just mindless robots that push buttons at regular intervals?

Yes the iPad flies the plane and the pilots are there to make sure the cord is still plugged in...

Give dumb people a way to communicate in mass social media and they spread their ignorance like a cancer spreading to other cells.

And those cells would be other dumb people who don't know any better.

Internet and all its web sites are like some real places in the real world : bar, pub... To avoid silly discussions and opinions, you don't go in certains real location. I do the same with Internet. I don't visit some website nor read their public comments.
