April 29, 201511 yr Even while flying over small lakes, I see waves crashing on the bank of the lake. They are very pronounced and fast. I have REX 4 and Overdrive and am wondering if there's something I can do to minimize the effect and make it more realistic ?
April 29, 201511 yr Where do you see that? Is it a new problem? Are you using UTX or Orbx Global Vector? Or just default scenery? The wave effects normally depend on the type of shoreline at the water's edge. The shoreline is vector data so that's why I mention UTX or Orbx Vector. Normally for a small lake there should not be waves or there is a lake wave effect which is more subtle than the ocean waves, so if you see ocean waves I'd guess that the wrong shoreline type was used. The terrain.cfg file determines the wave effect used for each shoreline type. Barry Friedman
April 30, 201511 yr Moderator I done use Vector and don't know if it has wave adjustments like UTX does, but you can always lower the special effects slider in the FSX UI and that will completely eliminate them but may affect other effects. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
April 30, 201511 yr I don't have Orbx vector either. Might be best to check at Orbx forums. Barry Friedman
