Hi all,

 

This might just be me, or maybe I just haven't looked hard enough, but I can't seem to find any avionics switch or radio masters, and as such I cannot connect to a radio in vPilot.

 

I can tune the frequencies but they don't become active in the pilot client, remaining faded out, almost like I just haven't switched them on. Similar to the PMDG 777, you can tune them but can't access them until you press the VHF1 key.

 

I've tried fiddling with the radio panel on the left of the captain's seat, with no luck.

 

I haven't tried any other pilot client with it because this is the one I choose to use currently. I'd appreciate any help as this does prevent me flying this online VATSIM!

In the lower section of the main instrument panel, below the captain's #2 display is a cluster of square button/switches. They are sort of hidden by the yoke, so you may have to shift your viewpoint to the right a bit to see them. There you will find two switches marked "radio master" # 1 and #2.

 

However, these are normally "on" by default when the aircraft loads. If vPilot can't pick up the radio state, you may need to use the default avionics master "on" command in FSX. I believe the normal key command for that is CTL + SHIFT + A. You could map that to an unused yoke button if you have one in the control set-up menu of FSX.

Also on the pilots left side there is a panel of buttons to switch from comm 1 to comm 2, etc. It is hidden under the window frame.

Hi,

Like Jim said, the radio switches are on by default. Even though they are, I have to hit a programmed key on my keyboard to get them on. I use Saitek Multi-panel and Radio panels and they don't come on until I hit the key. (the enter key in my case). Hope this helps.

Thanks for your answers guys, but I'm still struggling here. Even with V1.1, after tuning the frequency in the FMC page, vPilot will not pick up the active. The number remains white, the TX and RX boxes still greyed out. I've fiddled with all the buttons on the radio panel with no luck, this is with APU and both engines running, everything fine on the overhead. Perhaps its a problem with vPilot connecting with the Hawker? I just don't know what else to do.

I found that I have to run vPilot as administrator in order for it to work correctly. That could well be because I'm on W8.1 though. Same with EZDOK, it doesn't work unless I run FSX as an administrator, but no hardship

Unfortunately no. I've never used external hardware like you have, and am not very familiar with how it might interact with the sim or the Hawker add-on
