May 20, 201511 yr I want to buy Palm Springs airport KPSP which apparently requires FTX Global Base. Since I don't have Global Base yet will I have serious compatibility problems with my FSX textures, mesh, elevation issues, etc? I also want to buy Monterey KMRY airport which requires FTX Northern California. Since I don't have Northern California can I expect serious compatibility problems there as well? I understand I may have texture blending issues near boundaries, but I don't want floating buildings, taxiways and runways. FTX Global Base is a wish list item for me! Thanks for any help! May 20, 201511 yr Moderator This has been discussed a few times in the ORBX section of the forum here. KPSP will work fine without Global, the only thing is that it won't blend with the scenery boundaries as well, but I run it with MegaScenery SoCal and it works perfect. Even though ORBX says Global is required, it not really. Monterey however has been reported that it doesn't work well without their region installed underneath. However, if you are handy with some freeware tools like ADEX or similar you can make it work. I run their Lake Tahoe and Jackson Hole airports which are supposed to be run with the underlying regions installed but I run them with no regions and they both work fine with no tweaking. It's kind of hit or miss which of the region designed airports can be run without the regions installed and work with no tweaking. Any of their Global airport work fine as stand alone with no Global installed, you just need to install and run the libraries after installing the airports.
