June 1, 201511 yr Hi people, I'm wondering why my FSX locates my aircraft on the wrong place. Often, the aircraft stands far too left or right. I use GSX - might that be a source of the error? This is really annoying and the pushbacks aren't working correctly either. How can I solve this problem, I really have no idea. I also have an issue with Aerosoft's Barcelona scenery. There are all taxiway signs on middle of the taxiways and runways. I tried to deactivate some AFCAD files, but it hasn't worked out. I assume this issue might be caused by GSX, however I have no clue what exactly it is.
June 1, 201511 yr Moderator When you load a flight and start out parked at a gate, the aircraft is positioned only by the underlying AFCAD. If you loading the plane at Aerosoft's Barcelona and it's not loaded perfectly on the center yellow line it's probably because who ever designed the AFCAD didn't line the parking up perfectly with the yellow line on the texture poly that is displayed at that particular airport. That happens a lot with aftermarket airports where the lines don't exactly match up with the ones on the underlying AFCAD. The other problem with the taxiway signs all over Barcelona is surely caused by another AFCAD. If you're running My Traffic X, you will need to go into the MTX scenery folder and find the Barcelona AFCAD and either remove it or rename it from .bgl to .off or .bak. You might also want to visit the ScruffyDuck website and download the Simple AFCAD Scanner and run it to find other duplicate AFCADS that you make have installed from MTX or other sceneries. Link below. http://www.scruffyduck.org/simple-airport-scanner/4584282795 Also, GSX can't cause any of the issues you noted. GSX simply reads whatever AFCAD that is being used at that time and positions the aircraft according to that. GSX l so can't cause any duplicate taxiway signs or anything of that nature. June 2, 201511 yr Author I tried this again and in LEBL everything is fine with positioning of the aircraft. However, the problem with the taxiway signs are there. I noticed this problem of positioning on Aerosoft German Airports series. but I don't know how to find out with which other AFCAD it is in conflict. Further, UK2000's EGNT makes problems. When I run this simple airport scanner tool, I got e.g the message for EDDH. It says: Layer: 0001 Active: yes Filename: [...]BR2_EDDH.BGL I set this file to off, but nothing changed. I don't use tools like MyTraffic. Might there be other tools, that could mess up AFCADs?

Since you use GSX, you can use THE GSX airport customization tool to figure out what AFCAD is currently being used for a scenery, then you can use that info to go and disable it. Also, you say you don't use My Traffic, but the AFCAD BR2_EDDH.BGL is a My Traffic AFCAD. As cmpbellsjc suggested, it looks like all your problems are resulting from having multiple AFCADs installed for some of your airports and perhaps not turning off the correct ones. June 2, 201511 yr Author Thanks for your replies. I think I solved the problem with German Airports. I apparently have forgotten to activate AerosoftADF in scenery library, at least it works now. Your hint with GSX made the problem solved! Thanks you guys for your help!
June 2, 201511 yr Moderator I think I solved the problem with German Airports. I apparently have forgotten to activate AerosoftADF in scenery library, at least it works now. Glad you got it working by activating the AerosoftAFD layer, however, you should still go and track down any duplicate AFCADs for your payware sceneries as FSX doesn't do a real good job at respecting AFCADS in higher scenery layers for some reason. At least using GSX airport config you can figure out what AFCAD is actually being read by FSX for each airport, so if you have issues in the future with too many taxiway signs or default buildings popping up in after market sceneries, you can easily figure out what AFCAD is being called. June 3, 201511 yr Author I think I will track down any duplicate AFCAD when I am confronted with any issue again. Nonetheless, I don't understand why I do have files of Mytraffic. I never have had installed that before, so I am seriously wondering why it's installed on my hard drive? I don't assume that has to do with static aircraft that I've had selected for installation. Howsoever, very glad that all that signs vanished from the wrong places. It's like a new atmosphere when being there, so a more realistic feeling. Sometimes, it's great how small things can change an entire environment.
June 4, 201511 yr Moderator Glad you got it fixed. Hard to say how you ended up with MTX AFCADS as they got installed on your system somehow. Does MTX have a demo that you installed at one point? Maybe some freeware package you installed is redistributing them in their package. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
