Just reinstalled RC4 and activated with new key. Am trying to setup how I had it before but, being a member of FlyUK VA, for the life of me I can't remember how I previously got "SKYWAYS" as my call sign.

 

It seems one has to set an Airline, which I thought I previously set as Skyways Sweden, but this comes up as "Sky Express" and I can't seem to be able to edit the Callsign box.

 

Is there anyway to either add an Airline to the list or edit the Callsign box?

You are in luck! There are skyways files in the pilot and controller scripts and audio files in the voice files. All you need to do is edit the file in rcv4\data called c4.csv with a text editor not excel or database editor.

 

First copy in your main rcv4 folder keyboard.dat and rcv3.dat to a safe folder along with c4.csv dat outside of your rcv4 folder.

 

Here's an extract from c4.csv:

 

FLO WEST,FLO WEST,Florida West International Airways - USA,0, 0
flyer,flyer,Flyer,0, 0
flytiger,flytiger,Flying Tiger,0, 0
ENVOY,ENVOY,FlyJet Ltd,0, 0
FLYNIKI,FLYNIKI,Flyniki / NL Luftfahrt GmbH - Austria,0, 0

 

right after the flytiger line add exactly;

 

skyways,skyways, FlyUK,0,0

 

so you have:

 

FLO WEST,FLO WEST,Florida West International Airways - USA,0, 0
flyer,flyer,Flyer,0, 0
flytiger,flytiger,Flying Tiger,0, 0

skyways,skyways, FlyUK,0,0
ENVOY,ENVOY,FlyJet Ltd,0, 0
FLYNIKI,FLYNIKI,Flyniki / NL Luftfahrt GmbH - Austria,0, 0

 

and save.

 

FlyUK will now appear in your airline selection.

 

now this line competes with this new skyways entry but i do not think it is a problem:

 

SKYWAYS,Sky Express,SkyWays - Sweden,0, 0

 

I would not delete it.

I know it has been a while since my post above, but after making the amendments that you suggested, I have noticed recently reference being made on accasions by ATC sometimes to "sky express" rather than "Skyways" in the callsign, which I assume is related to the competing line mentioned in your post

"SKYWAYS,Sky Express,SkyWays - Sweden,0, 0"

 

You said not to delete this line, but I was wondering if I could change it to say "SKYEXPRESS,Sky Express,SkyWays - Sweden,0, 0" to resolve this issue, or can you suggest something else?
