The Samoan experience

Recommended Posts

ORBX has given us over the last years some outstanding airport and region sceneries. This is slightly different, as it is a bit off the beaten track. Nevertheless any tube driver can land there and GA pilots will have fun exploring it further.

This new Samoa scenery covers American Samoa and Western Samoa and is at least for me just breathtaking (the same developers btw have given us already Port Moresby in PNG, another gem). Have a look:

We take off from Pago Pago NSTU. I thought that the good ole Goose might be a good plane to do some serious island exploring, even if it is a bit neglected on the outside

Let’s explore first a bit the Pago Pago harbor, but watch out for that damn cable across the harbor!!! Can you spot the small orange dots above the cruise ships? That's it

Lots of small, interesting details to appreciate

We fly East to Fitiuta

Luckily a beautiful “Vahine No te Tiare” (woman with flower) accompanies us

The next group of small islands we approach has the Ofu airstrip and village, where we plan to stop over for lunch

Do we really only want to stay for lunch?? Why not for the day, or why not for a week or even….

Sweet!  Is that a default FSX plane?  I don't recall anymore.

Yes, that's the default Goose with a few upgrades (which come mostly from ORBX team members)

Is there any way I could get hold of that Goose repaint?

Thanks in advance, best regards.

Damn! That Goose is a scruffy old girl alright, but something tells me that she's well-loved and dependable!

The scenery - breathtaking!
