Scenery Problems

Featured Replies

After some possible computer glitch (don't they always seem to happen for no reason at all ?), my Addon Scenery folder got moved from FSX\scenery folder to FSX root folder.  Now I get Many, MANY, messages such as the following at startup:

SCENERY.CFG file error.  Local Scenery directory (Addon Scenery\CCCLC\scenery) in scenery Area.115 not found. Click OK to continue.

I have been using SceneryConfigEditor, and tried using it to correctly point Area.115 to the (moved back) FSX\scenery\Addon Scenery folder .That really messed up my FSX and I had to go back to a restore point to get it back operating properly.

I have since uninstalled SCE, but the scenery.cfg still shows the SCE entries and the improper location of the Addon Scenery files.

So I have several questions, in addition to the easy one (How do I fix this problem ?):

Your Addon scenery folder should never have been under FSX\Scenery in the first place.

The correct location is directly under the FSX root folder i.e \FSX\Addon Scenery\

Put it back where it belongs and the edit the scenery.cfg paths to correctly point to your sceneries (make sure you are editing the correct Scenery.cfg)

C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\FSX\Scenery.cfg

Well, that was simple enough.  Thank you very much.  I guess I thought that the Addon Scenery folder had been under FSX\scenery.

Hello Glynn,

I too am having this issue. I start FSX-SE and I get a fair amount of Issues (please see attached screen shots) and I can't regain what I had. References to 'textures not found to 'not listed in scenery directory.' I could follow the you gave to 'DaveH' however, it's not working for me at the moment. I've have not deleted ANY scenery CFG's at this moment as they're in my recycle bin for the time being? This all came about as I was having issue with my 'Addon Scenery' Library trying to re-install all of my ORBX products and in the process lost control of my Addon Scenery Scenery library as I now must individually re-install them all one at a time as I have quite a FEW! I'm not sure if I have the same issue as 'DaveH' presented to you, but maybe something similar?

Hope you can help: Screen shots attached!

Richard
