Great review of a great aircraft

Featured Replies

I just wanted to comment on the excellent review by Zane Gard on the Carenado C-182RG. This C-182RG aircraft is the one I fly almost all of the time now, and I like everything about it. Zanes review was very detailed and accurate. I even learned something about the aircraft that I didn't know , despite the many, many hours I have spent flying it around. I also had the pleasure of flying a real C-182 a couple of weeks ago in Anchorage, AK, and the similarity in the handling of the real one to the Carenado was striking. Looking forward to some more reviews by Zane. http://www.avsim.com/pages/0705/c182r/c182r.htm

Hi Bob,You're right. Zane is a class act, and his review is absolutely first rate. AVSIM made a terrific choice adding him to their staff.Like you, I also learned some stuff about the airplane that I didn't know, despite having flown it a lot since its release.Best,Ken

Thank you Bob and Ken,I had a lot of fun reviewing this one cause it is a blast to fly :). Guess some of that enthusiasm showed through.Cheers,Zane

Great review from Zane!Problem is, now I don't need to buy it. Zane's review was as good as owning it as he walked us through his virtual flight :)-John

Wow, great review. It really touches on everything, from visuals to flight dynamics to where to find the 182 in your aircraft menu. Even criticism is put into perspective, such as the mention of the nose ballooning up with flap deployment and how the pilot would react to the "sensation" in the real world. It was well written, organized and I always enjoy the re-telling of a flight a reviewer made as long as it is not a substitute for making a real review.Very classy to mention the designers by name in the credits. I have to say, this was one of the best researched and written reviews I have ever read. Owning the Carenaod 182 myself, I also agree with "what" Zane said, and not just "how" he said it, but that is another story. :)Tony
