July 13, 201510 yr Whenever I land at Lukla I fall thru the runway onto the green hill below no matter how slow my rate of descent. I have FTX Global with Vector and am wondering if it is compatible. I see VNLK listed as being excluded from Vector elevations but I do not see VNL2 listed. I tried configuring it manually but VNL2 is not even listed on the "enabled" vector elevation list. First off, is anyone using this scenery without problems with FTX Global + Vector and the mesh they recommend? THanx in advance Donald
July 13, 201510 yr I am using that product with global+vector+freemeshX. Workie good but runway is screwy if your mesh resolution is set for anything other than 19m, if I recall. It's a known problem with that add-on, and before landing there I always reload the airport by emptying the scenery cache. July 13, 201510 yr Deleting the AF2_VNL2.BGL in the LuklaX\Scenery folder will prevent you from falling through the runway. The drawback is that you won't be able to select VNL2 in the free flight airport selector - but you can still position your aircraft there using the included pre-saved flight called Lukla_Start. If you keep VNL2, you can start out at Lukla and everything will work fine; but if you fly to Lukla from somewhere else, the runway elevation will be screwed up.
July 13, 201510 yr Only problem I ever had was a bump in the runway. there is a flatten for that hiding somewhere.
July 13, 201510 yr Author I have already tried both removing Af2_VNL2.BGL and renaming it. I then put it back hoping Orbx configurator could figure out to exclude the airport; no luck. I just removed it again with the same result... falling thru the runway. Is anyone having success using Global+Vector with Aerosoft Lukla? Donald
July 22, 201510 yr Author I am embarrassed to say that it was all me; I mistakenly downloaded the old FS9 version instead of the FSX when I got my new computer... Problem resolved... Donald
