July 25, 200520 yr Discovered today that there is a Version 1.3 of this scenery.Have not tried it yet.Available at:http://www.jg.laurent.com/indexphp?lang=frRegards, JAHamilton - Los Angeles.
July 25, 200520 yr If I recall, many people had problems with this outfit's previous installer which was faulty. Again, this version is released with no option to install to a temporary directory. I tried changing my 'Flight Simulator 9' directory name and sure enough, the install created a new directory of that name but then froze the installation. I couldn't get any further. On principle, I am not one for autoinstallers, particularly when they do not tell you first what they are going to do to what. If anyone HAS installed this successfully, might you share what folders appeared where? I believe the installer also makes changes to the SCENERY.CFG file ....Thanks for any advice. There's no mention of what to do if you have a previous version installed (remove, overwrite, set fire to, whatever ....)Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 25, 200520 yr it didn't seem to create a scenery.cfg entry but added a few folders to the add-on scenery directory. Not sure if that's all it installed, but for free I'll take my chances. Nice to have some good quality airports to fly to around the caribbean.Next version please make a manual install option, but great work!
July 25, 200520 yr Thanks, Al. The real worry is if they drop stuff into the main TEXTURE folder. Many of us have replaced certain default files with modifications and sometimes these add-on packages come bundled with their own version of grass, concrete, runways etc. which is not to everyone's taste or suitable in all locations.I think I might hold off for now and live with the previous version which I finally managed to trace all the bits for and get working! Took a while, though.Mark "Dark Moment" BeaumontVP Fleet, DC-3 AirwaysTeam Member, MAAM-SIM[a href=http://www.swiremariners.com/cathayhk.html" target="_blank]http://www.paxship.com/maamlogo2.jpg[/a] _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
July 25, 200520 yr Hello Mark,I tried some airports with the new version, some big changesparticularily at Canouan, Le Raizet and Le Lamentin.Did not notice any texture changes so you should be safe.Disable and eventually remove old Barbados & Tobago scenery.Quite safe to cut & paste the 3 files in the FS9 Addon Sceneryand overwrite your original installation.Regards, JAHamilton - Los Angeles.

July 26, 200520 yr Current version is the older version, both 1.3I too dislike auto installers. The are difficult enought to clean up, and this one is in French, also.I executed the installer, let it do its thing. It places three files in "addon scenery" and creates a"new.cfg" in default FS2004 which adds the entries of the scenery layers. Then I copied all to my scenery drive, which is other than FS2004, and ran "add/remove programs". All ok for nowDom
July 27, 200520 yr Author I also had some fun with the installer, but the scenery is FANTASTIC!Suggest you try it. Especially nice at dusk.If for some reason you are reinstalling it, make sure that you first remove all entries with the word ANTILLES in scenery.cfg as the installer doesn't like that. Otherwise, wonderful scenery.....
