Installing a VC gauge from one default a/c into another

Featured Replies

If, for example, I wanted to use the Baron 58's HSI in the Maule, how would I go about that?

Thanks,

Al

Most VCs are 3d modeled and you cannot move gauges in or out..

In case of older aircraft like the one you mention, you can try to swap gauges in the VcockpitXX section

of the panel.cfg file and see how good a match you get.

The other thing I'd like to do is put the Baron58 HSI or some other default HSI with glide slope capability into a freeware a/c, the PC-6 porter by Tim Conrad.  The HSI in the PC-6 does not have GS capability. To do that I would guess I have to point the PC-6 to some default texture files and the HSI gauge definition. Can you alias a single gauge or just a whole panel?

I apprecaite the responses, thanks.

Al

Find the HSI gauge line in the panel.cfg file  (open with Notepad)

(Back up the panel.cfg file first!)  :wink:

Your Maule example:

[VCockpit01]
...
gauge11=Maule_M7_260C!hsi,                  261, 2, 128, 125

Find the HSI line in the Baron:

[VCockpit01]
...
gauge03=Beech_Baron!Horizontal Situation Indicator, 326, 178, 186, 177

Replace the Maule HSI by the Baron HSI and save:

gauge11=Beech_Baron!Horizontal Situation Indicator,                  261, 2, 128, 125
