August 1, 200520 yr Hi there I'm looking for a good AI traffic package. I found Traffic 2004 in a shop close to me (I live in Sydney). I can't find the Ultimate Traffic CD in the shops so I wondered if its worth buying the Traffic 2004.Any opinions on Traffic 2004? Any pros n cons? Is it easy to install without any manual altering to the FS9 files?
August 1, 200520 yr I have it and prefer it to UT but that's my choice. Don't buy Traffic 2004 though as the next version is released in a few days (12 August). Probably best to get it direct from Just Flight in the UK. When you sign up for an account you should get a credit to the account - mine was the equivalent of GBP5.A quick phone call to them just now reveals mail time to Oz is a max of 28 days but usually 8-12 days.http://www.justflight.com/en/(5y3m12m2blia...u45)/index.aspx (copy and paste whole link) William Hall
August 1, 200520 yr I had Traffic 2002 which was OK, but what I don't like about this series is the shape of some of the aircraft, especially the nose and cockpit areas - the 737s in particular look very strange. The UT/PAI ones look much better. Mind you, the new Traffic 2005 has some interesting features, including a device to stop all those go-arounds at busy airports, and lots of new airlines so might be just what you're after if you can't get UT. August 1, 200520 yr Author It seems to me that except for PAI and Ultimate Traffic, the other packages have UGLY AI aircraft models. With the caviat that I have only seen the screenshots of the other AI packages, UT and PAI look much, much better from the liveries to the shape of the aircraft. Now, with that said, if you are planning on replacing your AI models, then it really doesn't matter which package you get...but, if you simply want to use it out of the box, may I *HIGHLY* recommend Ultimate Traffic. In the same token, if you are a "doityourselfer" Then use PAI and Most Realistic Flight Plans and you are off to the races for free!HTH,Mike T.
August 1, 200520 yr I really like My Traffic.Simple install, nothing to setup really, and no models to download.Best part is that you get GA and military traffic, besides the heavy stuff.Airlines are appropriate, throughout the world. It automatically updates the voice pak for you as well.* Orest-~~~~~~~~~Orest Skrypuchwww.united-virtual.comUAL1445 Staff ORDFO Orest Skrypuch President & CEO, UVA www.united-virtual.com
August 2, 200520 yr Traffic 2005 includes the freeware AISmooth V1.00. It had some problems but they can be worked around. I use AISmooth with a traffic seperation 0f 90 seconds, response to my aircraft off, and UT Traffic at 80%.Some months ago Traffic 2004 got a fairly positive review in Computer Pilot magazine in a comparison with other traffic apps. I think it was #2 after UT2 being #1 but I am not sure.
