Do xwind AFCADs reflect reality

Recommended Posts

I've been using some of Ray Smith's excellent AFCADS to reduce takeoff and landing flow at KORD.

It's great not being stuck behind ten planes awaiting takeoff, but I'm curious if large aircraft use crosswind runways as a common practice in the real world at airports such as KORD, KJFK, KLAX, etc.

Thanks,

Ernie

It's designed simply to move the AI more efficiently. The AI engine just can't handle the number of AI we throw at it, so people found the CW method as a way to trick the sim.
