Anyone try Traffic 2005 yet

Featured Replies

Hi all. I'm considering buying Traffic 2005 but wanted to know what you all thought about it? I'm running a 3.2g system w/2g ram, nVivdia 6800 GT etc. and was curious about frame rates in major airports and the handling of AI approaches. ThanksBill

I'm wondering that too, and I can't find the info I need on their website:1.) Are the aircraft models low-poly, multi-LOD? (Better than UT?)2.) Are the airlines restricted to somewhat real-world regions? While I'm not a stickler for actual schedules, I would like to see carriers only serve that airports they serve in reality...3.) How hard is it to add my own GA-AI and generate random flights - like Markus' free GA-traffic program?4.) Does AISmooth work better than the freeware 0.92 version? Thanks for any info!

Version 1.o of aismooth is freeware, its available here at the library. As for aitraffic addons, there nothing outthere that beats FSlive traffic at the moment, its a bit expensive yes but its well worth the money in my opinion.OHN

I can run my AI Traffic slider all the way up with Ultimate Traffic, and it doesn't seem to have too much effect on my system.

Ah, could you please describe your 3,80 GHz, 4GB RAM, Radeon X800 GT system? ;)Regards,Robert

The models in T2K5 look downright awful.

Compress those UT Models into DXT3s and it will help your frame rates. I did, and I am getting better results.dlm9000

That makes it completely worthless to quite a lot of us (including me). Not saying it's not fine for some people, but it's such a major limitation that it should be mentioned when you recommend it.

Thanks all for your input. While I love the concept behind FSlive I think it still a bit pricey ie: $54+renewal fees. UT/MT seems to be the way to go at the moment.Happy flyingSticks

I reviewed Fslive Traffic for another website some months ago, although I still really like it I found that when your license expires the program automatically shuts off the AI until you purchase another license.. I thought the program would at least remain in MSFS and allow you to use the old schedules, until you wanted to download more up to date ones.Another problem I ran into, was I had to do a complete reinstall and didn't have MYTRAFFIC installed with the second installation and I had several AI aircraft that were causing CTD's. I uninstalled Fslive and that corrected this problem, so when it came down to re subscribing, I chose not to. I ended up going to Ultimate Traffic and will probably give Traffic 2005 a shot when I can get it.

I've got to agree, those models suck.Todd
