August 15, 200520 yr I wonder if someone who owns (has seen) this video could scribble a couple of words about it. I am considering getting it and would like to know how informative it is. Most specifically, how indepth is the Fly-by-wire demonstration ?ThanksAdam
August 15, 200520 yr Don't expact in-depth technical information. I don't have this one but I have the 747 which is very good but there is simply no time to go over certian things. Expect a good preflight, intoduction to the cockpit and all standard procedures. They are not going to demonstarte flight envelope protection that comes with fly-by-wire. You would need a video from Boeing 777 test flight to see that. ;)Michael J. Michael J.
August 15, 200520 yr Is the 777 United video a good buy? I'm thinking of getting that along with 2 more of their cargo carrier DVDs

August 15, 200520 yr ITVV Cathay is the best 777 video out there (and I have some of them). The captain does a fine job in explaining every single aspect of the plane in a simulator (including fly-by-wire demonstrations such as stall, overspeed, and bank protection). Besides, there are some nice in-flight action scenes, such as a high-speed overpass and approach into Auckland, NZ.As for all ITVV videos, this one is highly recommendable!..Now, where's my money? ;-)Regards,Holger SeilzBAW0715
August 15, 200520 yr Also, the Boeing Test Pilot flying as First Officer, will be the keynote speaker at the Avsim Conference in San Diego. Expect some good stories from her. :) BobK
August 16, 200520 yr Make no mistake about it, ITVV DVDs and Videos are the most professional cockpit presentations available in almost every way. I have large aviation collection and I rank these very high.Production quality is exceptionally high, systems and aircraft presentation is detailed and specific. Crew parcitipation is well prepared and extremely well presented. These are the most involving and educational on the market. My pennies worth.Del.____________________________________________AMD64 3400+ATi Radeon 9800SE 256MB (softmod to 9800 PRO)2 X 512Mb DDR333 Kingston RAM 200Gb Seagate Barracuda SATA 7200 HDD(x32 XP SP2 Home)40GB Hitachi SATA 7200 HDD (x64 XP Pro)Abit AV8 Pro moboSony DVD-ROMLG DVD-RW"How wide the limits stand, between a splendid and a happy land"http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/800driver.jpg[/img]
August 16, 200520 yr Author >Make no mistake about it, ITVV DVDs and Videos are the most>professional cockpit presentations available in almost every>way.Seconded! ITVV's discs are the standout in this genre. Far and away, ITVV's production values far exceed the competition - closest that I can see would be World Air Routes.ITVV often uses multiple cameras on one aircraft, plus ground based "spotter" cameras at the departure and arrival airport. Other "in-the-cockpit" vendors only use ONE camera - a handheld camcorder. Having seen the Cathy 777 video, I would say it is a worthwhile investment - especially if you are a 777 fan. Each particular ITVV video is the cat's meow for the respective airplane they are featuring. Their Concorde and Virgin 747 sets are especially good!Enjoy,-Greg
September 6, 200520 yr Just wanted to briefly revive this thread and thank everybody for their opinion. I wondered how long ITVV takes to process an order. I placed mine 8 days ago but have not received from ITVV anything but a confirmation (not to mention the shipment). My credit card has not been charged either. ITVV has not responded to my emails and calls. Any ideas ? Adam
September 7, 200520 yr May take a while, but normally they are indeed top notch. For example, the cathay 747-400 video is a very nice one, where the pilot talk about stalls, and then the video shows the same captain in a simulator where he shows how well the stall recovery in a -400 works.ITVV is indeed the best.Johan[A HREF=http://jdserver.no-ip.com]Personal Server[/A]A LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION, AND A LITTLE MORE ACTION PLEASE!HELP:http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=238882
September 9, 200520 yr I got it and it's very good ! The envelope protection demonstrations in the sim are very interesting.adam
