October 20, 201510 yr The PMDG 777 is well known for its VAS-usage and I won't be the only one that sometime is confronted by "the ringing of the bell" to warn for a coming OOM. When flying this morning from EHAM to EGBB I noticed of course a continuous shrinking of the available VAS using FSUIPC to monitor it. I changed from windowed mode to full screen mode and when turning back to windowed mode I found that the available VAS was several hundreds of Mb higher than before I changed from windowd mode to full screen mode. When completing the flight I repeated this several times and every time the available VAS had grown. Maybe this is a known effect, but unknown to me. Any comments? Don Houtman Don Houtman
October 20, 201510 yr Yes, it is a known effect and I also use it frequently whenever I run into a low-VAS situation. However, I couldn't find any rasonable explanation for this effect yet. Don Houtman Using FSX, it is not usually recommended to switch between windowed and full screen as this can cause a few weird issues. I am not sure if FSX:SE has this issue, and am pretty sure P3D v2 and later does not. Wes Meyer
October 20, 201510 yr Author Thanks for the advise Wes. I am using FSX-SE and will monitor for weird issues the coming weeks and will report back. Don Houtman
