August 24, 200520 yr Hi,I downloaded a trial version of FSBuild and it seems easy enough to use but I have a weird problem with it.I generate a flight plan and export it to FS9 flight plans and also to LDS767 for FMC. It generates both fine but for some reason, when I load the Flight Plan from within FS9 flight planner it just shows a default IFR flight plan using High Level airways, which is different from the FSBuild plan I generated.Am I missing something really silly here? I appreciate any help.Thanks.
August 25, 200520 yr FS Build has a trial version? Wish I had it before buying the full version as it turned out to be a little too complicated for me to use. I lost the program when my harddrive crashed. Lost registration numbers, everything and SimMarket doesn't allow additional downloads without buying a download service for the product. Yes, it's cheap but I'm not putting anymore money in SimMarket's coffers. FS Build has an excellent forum open to everyone that discusses issues such as yours. Recommend you check out Ernie's excellent site.Jim
August 25, 200520 yr Where did you get a trial version of FSBuild? - Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. August 25, 200520 yr Just a suggestion, you might want to try the Trial version of FS Nav also before you make up your mind. I tried both and I liked the FS Nav features much more, and use FS Nav everytime I fly.http://www.fsnavigator.com/
August 25, 200520 yr Agree with Jim on the SimMarket thing - avoid if possible. They milk you if you lose your product, not very pleasant. I won't use them again for sure. Also, I've had FSBuild for some time, but I'm not happy with it. There was a recent thread discussing issues with it you might want to read (e.g. Auto-generated flight plans can be ... silly!).Del.
August 25, 200520 yr Hi Rob,As long as you are trying out programs, here is one you can use without any cost at all.It is called the Super Flight Planner by Alessandro Antonini. I've been using it for quite some time now, and it is 100% FREEWARE.You can read about it, and see screenshots, features, as well as download from their site:FREEWARE Super Flight Planner Page:http://www.cpinf.net/web/products.php?cat=1A Gallery of Screenshots is located here:http://cpinf.net/web/gallery/sfpI can also answer questions for you on its use, if you have any.Sonar5 CryptoSonar on Twitch & YouTube.
August 25, 200520 yr I recommend Fs NAV as well. However, when you export the plan to Fs and read it in, by default it reads it as an IFR. I always have to Save it one more time in Fs to convert it to VFR. A little bug, but nothing I can't live with.
August 25, 200520 yr helloI also like Super flight planner, great bit of freeware.I have just noticed it has moved from 3.0beta 5 to 3.0pre and this has solved a problem i had with exported plans and activesky V.I also use Airplan Sim version 8.2 which has a nice map with colored terrain although it looks like this feature is also planned for SFP soon.
August 25, 200520 yr Thanks for the replies. I actually posted the same Q on the Level D forum as well. I think I got it figured out. Its some kind of glitch. In FS9 planner, I selected LOAD flight plan and selected the one from the list. Then when you view route it just showed a default airway route; different from FSBuild. The trick I guess is to click LOAD again on that screen and then the FSBuild plan showed up correctly. I'm not sure why that is.As for the trial version, I downloaded it about a year ago. Only recently I got the itch to try it out to see what all the fuss was about. There were links to it on the Simviation forum and I haven't visited there since I think. I
