November 13, 201510 yr Hi, question from a soon-to-be first time P3Dv3 user. I have a lot of add-ons for FSX over the years and today after much research currently have P3Dv3 downloading right now. Should be complete for installment tomorrow. Is it possible to just copy and paste most of my Add-ons from FSX/Addon files to P3D/Addon files and just activate them or are we looking at a long couple of days and bandwidth re-downloading and installing files some over a GB in size? Any information is appreciated and as far as the OOM's i hope we have seen the last with P3D as it matures. Can you just copy and paste or is there a certain way or a step by step. Thanks again. November 13, 201510 yr Moderator Ols - save yourself some time and browse similar threads here - you'll find both general and specific answers. Short form - some will copy over with no problem some will install right into P3D some will need a dedicated installer some will need some sort of migration tool. Olisa, I would take a cautious approach, and reason being is two fold. Firstly, Lockheed Martin released P3D v3 with a new directory structure which in essence, would allow the user to reinstall P3D if needed and not have to reinstall their content. That being said, you may have a hard time 'migrating' anything into P3D and the content working without issue. The second point, the cautious one, is to seek out the developers who created the content you have, and see if they updated their installers for P3D v3. Keep in mind that it is important to find v3 versions. As Vic stated above, some content could be installed, with an installer and it find P3D and install into it. I will avoid discussing migration tools as they are not totally reliable (primarily latent issues with compatibility, directory paths, etc.) and there has been extensive discussion about their intent. Again, safe bets are always on dedicated installers and support from the developers. You will want to have that support in your back pocket in case something goes wrong. Any other manner of installation and you may find yourself starting all over again. November 14, 201510 yr Author I installed P3Dv3 and clicked to start it. It showed the initial logo like fsx does then i see nothing. I have it on as administrator. Is it an anti virus issue? I have removed fsx and everything, CCleaner and started fresh. Any ideas please? Olisa "Ols" Achonye USN/USAF
