FSX stopped interacting with Windows

Hi. First CTD for a long time. Never saw this one before:

It really wasn't a CTD, just an "Application Hang".  These are hard to diagnose. They happen occasionally and usually because there is just too much going on.  For instance, I had an application hang a couple of days ago flying from Chicago to Dulles International.  I had ASN and ProATC-X running and was flying the PMDG 777-300.  The weather was exceptionally heavy during the whole flight.  FPS and VAS were high when the hangup (freeze) occurred upon landing at Dulles.  Can I replicate this?  No.  I've tried a couple of times now and the aircraft lands without any problems.  There is a possibility that I got the hang or freeze as perhaps another application I have installed on my computer decided it was a good time to go on the Internet and look for updates or my Malwarebytes program was running a scan in the background (anti-virus programs do this too but I don't own an anti-virus program).  Windows Update could have decided it was a good time to look for updates too.  Computers do these things occasionally and they could care less you are just landing at your favorite airport or enjoying your FSX-SE program. 

 

There is nothing in your Event ID to provide a clue as to what happened.  Events 1000, 1001, and 1002 are common.  If it happened at the same location in the same scenario then that might provide a clue.  If it continues to happen, make sure you are starting FSX-SE as an Administrator.

Thanks for the reply.

Looks to me you are 100% correct. I just renewed my AV and it gave me some headaches. I tried to open vPilot and AV blocked it asking if it should be terminated bc it was untrusted. I clicked Trust the application and it crashed. Same thing with Aivlasoft EFB. It took me awhile to start those apps and it was happening when FSX was running. In flight EFB and virtual CDU crashed again and same AV message. I may need to talk to AV support.
