November 20, 201510 yr Hey, I know this is an old topic but I cant find the right answer for me. My CPU is Intel I5 4690K , AFAIK it the I5 series doesn't have HT. So what is the correct jobscheduler value for me? I tried 14 but I know 15 is also for a 4 core CPU... Thanks in advance!
November 20, 201510 yr Use the calculator of Windows in the "Programmer" mode and enter 14 (or 15) in the decimal layout, then switch to the Bin layout. You will see that 14 converts to 1110 and 15 converts to 1111. This means, 14 tells the P3D to run only on core 3, core 2 and core 1 and leaves core 0 out. Similarly, 15 means: run on all four cores. Means, 15 is absolutely useless, as it is the same as no affinity mask at all, resulting in all four cores used by P3D. The rest you have to test on your own, depending on your addons, your settings and your system, it might be that using AffinityMask=14 provides you better performance, it might also be that you do not see any difference. November 20, 201510 yr Hi, If your CPU doesn't use HT you shouldn't bother with jobscheduler at all. - PC Hardware: AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D // Asus ROG Crosshair X870E HERO // 2x32Gb Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 // ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4090 OC Edition // 4Tb Corsair NVMe M.2 MP600 // Corsair 1600W PSU Samsung Odyssey Arc 55" curved 165 Hz monitor. - Simulator Hardware: VIRPIL Constellation Alpha Prime + VIRPIL VPC Universal Control Panel - #3 + MOZA AY210 Force Feedback Yoke + WINWING URSA MINOR 32 Throttle & PAC Metal + WINWING SKYWALKER Metal Rudder Pedals + WINWING Airbus FCU & EFIS + WINWING Boeing 3N PAP + WINWING MCDU-32 + WINWING PFP-4 + WINWING PFP 3-N + WINWING PFP-7.
