Texture Loss on scenery and in VC.

Featured Replies

Good evening all,

Cannot figure this out. I keep having buildings go missing, complete texture loss on runways, vehicles. Also have knobs and switches missing in the PMDG 777, along with the PMDG 737.

I tried the Highmem fix, UIAutocore. everything. Need a new pair of eyes to help

Cheers,

Bryan

Now the circuit breakers are now transparent

Sounds like your video card is getting over worked? What card to you have?

Specs:

Windows 7 64 bit

Memory: 8192MB RAM

Processor: Intel Core i5-357K CPU @ 3.40 GHz (4CPU)~3.8GHz

Card: GeForce GTX 770

Approx total Memory 4095 MB

Most likely caused by a bad Texture_Max_Load setting. Should be 1024 (default), 2048, or 4096. Sometimes individuals accidentally place in wrong figures, like 20480. If that parameter is correct in your FSX.cfg, then move your fsx.cfg to a temporary folder and let the config rebuild. You could have placed a bad tweak in your config (some people use the automatic Venetubo tweaks (*******)) and they are not needed for today's modern systems. You have a so-so system so hopefully your settings are not set too high.

BTW, you have 8GB's of RAM and that's nice but FSX does not use that much RAM and may use up to 2GB's.  Set your page file at "System Managed Size".  You have 4GB's of Virtual Address Space (VAS) and Windows gave you that.  When it runs low, you could start seeing anomalies like textures going away.

It's essentially FSX saying lower those settings. I used to get this on clouds and runways, but when using the lower resolution clouds and runways, it went away.

The VCs in PMDG's aircraft are very complex with lots of things to draw. You'll notice that the default 737 or Ultralight planes load their VC textures the blink of an eye because they aren't as detail. The PMDG planes take a few extra seconds to load everything.

Seen this in other games too.
