December 6, 201510 yr Hello my friends.I'm learning to modify FSX-SE airports with the ADE 167. I really researched the Internet helps but I would like to know the difference between:Exclude AutoGen, Flatten, Flatten Exclude AutoGen, Flatten Mask Class Map, Flatten Mask Class Map ExcludeAutoGen, Mask Class Map e Mask Class Map ExcludeAutoGen.You can take the doubts that I have?Thank you so much.
December 6, 201510 yr First off, welcome to the Avsim forums! Second, the pdf manual that comes with ADE is pretty thick and explains a lot and I highly recommend reading it thoroughly. In a nutshell, the terrain polygon functions you are asking about are as follows. Exclude AutoGen - does not allow stock FSX automatically generated buildings and trees to appear within this poly. Flatten - flattens the terrain, making it level. This is required for airports as FSX cannot lay runways and taxiways over hills. Mask Class Map - allows you to cover up unwanted things like swamps, deserts, forests, etc., and replaces it with the airport grass background. There are multiple combinations of these three items to allow you to select functions and customize your airport scenery. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
December 6, 201510 yr Moderator Two suggestions: 1. The Scenery forum here at AVSIM 2. FS Developer (http://fsdeveloper.com) where the program's author and most user of ADE congregate! Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
