How do you get around the VC

Featured Replies

OK. So the PMDG 777 does not have a standard 2-D panel.

So. How do you move about the VC to switch and flip levers and press buttons..... Does it come with EZDOK or did PMDG create a mechanism to facilitate this.

This has been a sticking point for me in making a decision as to shell out nearly $100. I just don't want to be disappointed or frustrated and 100 bucks poorer.

Thanks

If you hit the A key on your keyboard, it changes the view to face key parts of the aircraft, just like any other PMDG aircraft.

SPACEBAR + Mouse/Mouse Wheel?

...or are you dealing with a homebuilt cockpit situation?

"A" cycles between preset camera positions in the cockpit or cabin, if you're in VC mode. You can still use the mouse to look around/interact in any of the preset views.

I also map the NUMPAD keys to move the camera position in the Virtual Cockpit (  + / -  raise and lower your "head" position, mostly )  I find that too many aircraft have the default camera position way too low.

If you right click and hold your cursor over the cockpit selection option, it will give you a drop down of different views from PMDG. Eg - the overhead panel, radio stack, Captain / FO views... etc.

If you're used to flying with 2D panels, those act as a substitute for 2D panels.
