December 15, 201510 yr I persevered with the desire to have no errors when error logging is enabled in P3Dv3. My remaining error was ... Key values exist outside of a section:File:E:\Games\Prepar3Dv3\SimObjects\Airplanes\PMDG 777-200LR\panel\panel.cfgKey: as well as other spurious errors about duplicate key names. It turms out that the PMDG 777-200LR\panel\panel.cfg file has embedded unicode. I just loaded the panel.cfg file into notepad, cut and pasted the text into another empty notepad window and saved it as panel.cfg (ignoring the unicode warnings). No More Errors. Specs: Win10, 4790K, nVidia 1080ti, Saitek Yoke+Quadrant+Radio/Switch and AP panels, VRInsight 737 overhead, Virtual Avionics 737 MCP. 3 x 1440*900 main display + 1024*600 VDU display. NLR V3 Motion seat. Oculus DK2 CV1 HTC Vive VR headsets.

December 15, 201510 yr Moderator I've actually found a few custom .fx files that also were saved with Unicode enabled that were throwing a lot of "errors" in the content log. Fr. Bill AOPA Member: 07141481 AARP Member: 3209010556 Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
December 15, 201510 yr Why I pushed so hard for Error logs ... and why 3rd party pushed so hard back to not have them seen by users ... hehe I've fixed a lot of sloppy mistakes using the P3D Content Error log feature ... despite 3rd party claims of them being "harmless". Some of the stuff is super simple to fix and really shouldn't be there ... I pretty much love just about all 3rd party content providers, but some of this stuff, come on ladies/gents ... shouldn't be there for any level of payware. Cheers, Rob.
December 15, 201510 yr How are these developers (even makers of 777) saving with Unicode on? How I Evaluate Third Party Sim Addon Developers Refined P3Dv5.0 HF2 Settings Part1 (has MaddogX) and older thread Part 2 (has PMDG 747)
