September 13, 200520 yr Hi Guys, a question regarding having helicopters as AI Traffic, is it possible ???? If the answer is yes are the flight plans written along similar lines to planes, and finally do you have to assign them to the parking positions so they take off and land at the heliport for example, in Afcad. Im still pretty new at this, any help would be great thanks.

I have yet to have seen this done successfully so far, however the new FSTRAFFIC 2005 claims to have this feature!! Don't know how or how well it works though!! September 13, 200520 yr Holger Sandmann explained the mechanics of adding ai helicopters over 2 years ago; his tutorials with working examples can be found in the Avsim library.Search for his name and/or aiheli_1.zip through aiheli_7.zip.Best regards.Luis Hot, humid Caribbean paradise!
September 13, 200520 yr I don't have FSTraffic2005, but I understand in both it and the MyMilitary traffic program the helicoptors essentially fly like airplanes. They even need a take off roll. I could probably live with this compromise, but some folks can't.Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]
September 13, 200520 yr Is there anything Holger hasn't done? That guy sure is productive! Thanks, Holger!Tony=http://www.flightsim-bevs.com]

Once airbourne, look like normal helicopters flying around. Hopefully the next version of FS will address this.Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/mcdcvabanner.jpgCalVirAir International Best, Michael KDFW
September 13, 200520 yr Author One thing Traffic 2005 has done which I haven't seen before is making skid helicopters taxi in a hover mode - a foot or so above the taxiway.I haven't figured out if it's contact points and static CG height or what yet. Still looking.
