Majestic Dash 8Q 300 - Any Good?

Featured Replies

Just wanted some thoughts, cant find any detailed reviews anywhere. Is this version of the Dash 8 better than the PSS version?Any thoughts would be appreciated.Lee

Hello there, IMHO the Majestic Dash8 Q-300 is amazing. You won't regret buying this one. Go to www.majesticsoftware.com There are three models. I do own the PSS, but that does not compare to the level of realisim of the Majestic. The first model (Pilot Edition) is what I have. The systems modeling is the real deal. The sound package is like anything I have ever heard before. The VC has that "being there" design if you like flying VC like I do. There is also an external module console for failures as well. Check out the website and go to the forums link as well for more info. Best regards, Jeff

Hello,I would like to buy this - is this a download???Thanks,Ron SagelNEAR KCHS

Thanks Jeff.I think I mat try it.

Any other thoughts from users of this aircraft?Lee

Hello,I bought this a few hours ago. Since I am only a sim pilot, I can only comment so far on what I have observed.I already have the PSS Dash-8 and I really liked it a lot. This one is far better for me! Almost all of the functions seem modeled. The sounds are really good - very interesting change from the PSS. I have only flown a few short hops but it seems to behave great. All of my controls function fine and the autopilot and FMS seem fine also.On the down side - my GOFLIGHT controls do not interface with the A/C (other than throttle/trim/flaps)One problem that I had was a CTD after I started it up but have come to the conclusion that like the Flight 1 ATR - this one also needs to start up as a default aircraft like the Cessna 172 default.Another observation is that after the install, I had to edit the aircraft.cfg to get the included textures other than the Tyrolia Air. I'm not sure if that was intended by the developers but I'm OK with that.As of now - I'd give this a big thumbs up.Ron SagelNEAR KCHS

I actually just this minute installed it.1 Problem. The sound does not seem to be working :(

Hey there, You might want to check into the forums over at Majestic. The sound for this plane uses DirectX and not the FS9 internal, so this may be with your system. Also, there is alot of info there about most topics as well as hints to improve your experience by editing the ini file. AVSim forums are great, but I am sure you will find your answers quicker at Majestic as it is only on the Dash8 AC. Let us know how you make out. See you here and at Majestic forums. It is called Fanda forums by the way. Best regards, Jeff
