I am sure it can be done, but I don't know how.

 

I fly mostly my Aerosoft Airbus but currently, the only way to change the Autopilot speed is to use the mouse.

Is there a way of mapping a joystick buttons to increase/decrease AP speed using FSUIPC?

Two methods i can think of:

 

1. If the Airbus has a keyboard press that will do what you want you can use FSUIPC to program joystick buttons to produce that keypress.

 

2. FSUIPC mouse-macros. You will need to check if these are possible with the Airbus. Not all are capable of recognising the mouse macro.

 

3. If neither are possible you might try asking in the FSUIPC forum as there are other plugins you can use to give you what you want.

Under "Buttons and Switches," FSUIPC has a control called "Ap Spd Var Dec" and "Ap Spd Var Inc" that I think do what you want.

Thank you, but unless I am doing something wrong, that did not work ;-(

 

I did profile specific

Pressed the button on joystick

Selected Ap Spd Var Dec 

Selected Control to repeat while held

 

but nothing happens in the sim

 

I have read somewhere about a script being required but not sure if that is old or not?

Post in the FSUIPC forum, you may get more help there.

I wonder if a MOD could move it please?

I don't use "profile specific" and it works fine.   Also, I don't have the Airbus.  Try it on a default aircraft.  It may be that the Airbus doesn't use standard calls.

The FSUIPC forum is not on Avsim, so they might have a problem doing that.
